            (The nature of PSYCHE)
      Chapter 6
              SLEEP, DREAM, SLEEPLESSNESS

    6.3.   DREAMS

è     Not only internal cognitive-adaptable work of astrosoma SA is accompanied by dreams.
In wakefulness psyche's activity (in routine norm) is focused exclusively on realities and requirements of the physical stratum of Being, on individual's needs in this very stratum. Mentalum SM (more exactly – its part, consciousness), dominating in the psyche, is subordinated itself to requirements of physical being. The traditional formulation is the spirit is captivated in the flesh.
During sleep these connections, strictly determined by the physical vital environment, weaken; individual's S astralum SA functions more independently (comparatively with wakefulness), irrespective of his SM; its (SA) interaction with the external astralum, or its astralum exchange, also becomes more active.
This connection is bilateral, 1)passive and 2)active: 1) SA becomes more open, more accessible to external influences, and 2) SA itself can (partly) exterate, pass into other astralum spaces (sometimes not concerned with the routine reality, even alien to it), to get into contacts with other astralum bodies. Such contacts can facilitate restoration of SA norm (and refresh) as a catalyst facilitate/accelerates chemical reaction. An accessory result of them, subjective perception of them are also dreams. But negative external influences are not excluded too; an example is nightmares.
The impressions, experienced in the astralum, are subjectively perceived as really as the physical reality. That is especially pronounced at children: realities of the physical world aren't yet so strongly inculcated in their psyche, haven't yet so complete domination over it, as at adults.

So, four-years-old hemi-awaked Ôåäÿ/Fedia/Theodor asks his mommy: But haven't I pissed in fact? Absurdity of the question seems obvious. He feels that his bed (pyjamas) is wet. But it is not less obvious, that the child faces as well another reality contradicting the first one. This very duality forces him to address to mommy's authority in order to find out, which of two realities is more real.
It is clear: he dreamed that he wanted – suffered(beared) – got up– ... – hurrah! he had been in time!

Let's note incidentally, that dreams can be provoked by internal, physiological sensations.
For a child astralum events, not embodiment at the physical stratum (existing only in the astralum – in a dream), are as real as those astralum events which are realized (are embodied, have conformity) in physicum, which occur during waking. For him, astralum events themselves are the reality.
Astralum's SA independence (on mentalum SM) during sleep is revealed by decrease – as a rule – a level of criticism. Already only after awakening if his dream was remembered, a person analyzes, how much credible were the events happened in it. But in the very moment of this experience, when SM (and logic) is switched off, all is accepted merely as a fact, or, as a last resort, as a surprising fact.

So, a person, happening to meet in his dream someone who died long time ago, thinks: What?!! It turned out, he hadn't died! - and tries tactfully not to show that regarded him as dead.

To distinguish a dream from a physical reality happens to be difficultly not only to children.

So, one, who ridded of smoking, searched for a stub right after awakening, so bright was his dream, that he smoked.
So, another, having woken up, began to unpack the collected things: he saw a dream, that a phone call was that a trip was delayed.

Noteworthy is an ancient Chinese legend about a wise man who guessed who he was: whether a person who dreamed he had been a butterfly, or a butterfly which now dreamed it was the wise man. By the way: whether it is casual, that the Chinese thought about the butterfly? At ancient Greeks the soul was symbolized by Psyche, by a butterfly.
For somebodies - people not from this world - the reality of other, astralum spaces, the world of their own imaginations, surpasses the reality of physical life circumstances. As Shakespeare's Hamlet says: I could live in a nutshell and feel like the lord of the world. Sleep can become the most valuable part of such a person life, and daily activity is only annoying necessity distracting him from dreams.
But astrauml spaces of dreams are real not only subjectively.
While Karl Gustav Jung [ 157 ] speaks about repeatability of separate images in dreams of many people, and on this basis concludes that these images are objectivity of mankind importance, are archetypical, the author has a case/precedent proving objectivity of the whole astralum spaces (unconscious areas in S. Grof's terminology [ 31 ]).

Thus, the author knows the case when two persons saw simultaneously the same dream, and each of them saw another in it. The plot of dream was fantastic: some wood with snakes (especially well remembered) and another animals. Dream was bright and made the strong impression upon both of them. Having woken up (they slept alongside), they at once began to tell each other the dream, and with enormous surprise have found out identity of their dreams. Then they began to specify details and have not found any divergence. This case has happened with author's parents before his birth, in their student's years.

    S. Kàràgullà describes cases, when people before unfamiliar (meeting for the first time), recognized/remembered each other as members of the same group receiving lessons in (joint) dreams [ 161 ].
Astralum spaces are real, but it does not mean, that everyone can get in them. The fact, that they are real (are not a vain fiction, an invention or deliberate lie of an observer), does not give a guarantee, that anyone else can get into them. In this sense they are individual. Spaces of E. Swedenborg (1688-1772) are quite not similar to D..Andreeva's (1906-59) ones [the Rose of the world] or John Apostle [the biblical Apocalypse]. Something, that is real in the astralum for one, should not be (or become) necessarily reality for some another.
The same concerns with archetypes: in one cultures conceptions of the hell are connected with tortures on eternal fire (in the countries with a hot climate), in others (with a cold climate) - in an eternal frost.
Everyone who remembers his dreams, knows, how much their spaces are freakish. So, there are references (proofs) in the literature of reverse time motion possibility.

Astralum areas of dreams does not cross: while a person see one dream, he does not remember other dreams even if they alternate. Different channels are used to connect with different areas of UDI, and they work, as a rule, not simultaneously. Transition from astralum space of one dream into another is experienced subjectively as transition from dream into wakefulness. A person dreams, that he has woken up and remembers his dream (which can be named a dream of the second order). A number of such chain links of sequential awakenings (ostensibly awakenings) - or on the contrary: the depth of a set of a nested doll of dreams enclosed each other - apparently has no principle restrictions.
A process of transition from one space into another, of one channels blocking and of others opening, demands definite/some expenses of energy. This concerns transition from wakefulness in dream (and back) too. Therefore the more unexpectedly a person is woken, and/or the more sudden was his transition from astralum space of his dream into astralum space of physical (more strictly - hyperphysical) reality, the more difficultly is to him to understand not only where he is but even who he is.
It is easy to see here a conflict character of the falling asleep situation, of a vicious circle existence: at exhaustion, at need/requirement for energy, there is deficiency of the same energy for transition into sleep and to get it (energy). Therefore over-fatigue can turn into sleeplessness; there are from here whims of a tired child; therefore it is difficultly to put him to bed, to lull, and to awake him, if it is made by clock, instead of his own natural needs, not according to his actralum body SA state.

By the way - about children's whims. Another reason of them can appear language difficulties. In order to an adult can feel it, it is enough for him to get into another language environment. Not understandable, ostensibly causeless crying can arise as a reaction to difficulties of self-expression. If a child feels injustice, let it be even tiny, he can burst into tears not because of the injustice, but because he is not able to explain, what exactly he consider as injustice.

Some people do not remember their dreams and even believe that nothing and never dreams to them. So it happens, if bond channels of mentalum (more exactly- of its part, of consciousness) with astralum are blocked completely. But if a person not only remembers his dream, but also understands during sleep, that it is just dream, it means that his mentalum not only does not lose this connection, but also synchronously analyzes astralum events. If also function of managing channels (from mentalum upon astralum) is kept a person can manage to wake up, to interrupt his dream - for example if the plot of the dream is unpleasant to him. Such an ability is specifically human for it suppose of self-consciousnessG presence - of ability to reflect, to analyze the own consciousness, of the second order consciousness.     è
