The method does not require any long preliminary abstention. This very trait of the method is one of its advantages, its PAINLESSNESS.
But it is not nevertheless indifferent, which is a patient's state when he comes at a working session. It is necessary, that he could concentrate himself on his working problem, his psyche difficulties from which he'd like to get rid. In a case of narcotic dependence, two extremes can hinder him.
• if he has taken his drug quite recently, and does not yet feel new need for it, and
• if the new (next) need is too bright, if he has completely lost emotional equilibrium, if he is not, as lawyers speak, in prudent senses and firm memory; perhaps, in such a case, he'll need a preliminary narcologist's help.
