1. ALTRUISM or EGOISM?
It is known: a clever man knows how to extricate from a difficulty, a wise one knows how not to get into it. In this sense, the farther a sage can make a look into future the wiser he is. Don't this is why he does unto other men as he would have them do to him [ 8, 100-6], and don't altruism shows itself by this way?
There is a high probability that "others" will reciprocate with the same – good for good, evil for evil. It's trivial. But more: there are grounds to assert that the evil to "another" is the evil to oneself too. We'll reference to Stanislav Grof. His experiments have showed how firm psychical unity of all participants of an interpersonal conflict is [ 9 ]:

It's obvious that LSD did not create these psychic relations (as well as the conflict situations themselves) but merely reveals them. Thus, a butcher who torments his victim torments himself too. Not concurrently, to be sure, but in short-or-long-range outlook. An appraisal of inevitability of such a prospect can be different up to diametrical opposition.
One should not speak about the inevitability if it is considered that an offender of a conflict loses links to the conflict after his death, as well as to all other his earth experience.
But if the death is considered as merely an episode in the chain of individual's earth existences/incarnations, so the inevitability acquires quite appreciable outlines: egoism turns in the upshot against the egoist himself. Therefore it is better/more advantageously to get rid of it.
So, the problem of reincarnation turns out a key moment in the strategy of one's credo choice, the problem whether one ought to admit it as reality or as an ungrounded fantasy.
